RV Electric Help
Shore Power
Shore power is the electricity provided to the RV when the electrical cord is plugged into the campground electrical supply box.The RV electrical cord connects to the main circuit breaker in the RV campground. Each of the outlets has its own breaker so you are not connected to the same breaker as your neighbor. In a lot of parks, the electrical outlets have not been tested up to code for 20 to 30 years, so you are going to want to make sure we check these at each campground you go to.
120 VAC Circuit Polarity Tester
The polarity tester is one of the most important devices that a Coach or RV owner can have when expecting to hook up to an electrical supply box. These devices have three lights on them which helps to tell you if the outlet is good to plug into. If any of these lights light up red, you will want to move to a different campsite for the safety of your family. The testers cost no more than ten dollars at your local automotive or hardware shop.
